v Short description of the organization
The Scientific and Practical Institute of Biotechnologies in Zootechny and Veterinary Medicine founder is the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova from 1956.
Main objective of the Institute's activity is to ensure scientific support for the continuous development of the livestock sector in our country in the context of the vector of European integration.
Research directions of the institute are: developing the scientific principles of maintaining and diversifying the genetic pool of animals approved in our country and ensuring the optimal functioning of their reproduction; evaluation of the productive potential of purebred animals through genetic control of productive-useful quantitative and qualitative characters; the development of new principles for increasing the hereditary variability of animal breeds raised in our country; creation of breeds, types, lines, new hybrids with increased productivity and adaptability by applying domestic and imported genetic resources; development of animal breeding, exploitation, reproduction and feeding technologies; the development of new technologies in the production and conservation of fodder in order to realize the genetic potential of animal productions; development of procedures, methods and schemes for preventing and combating diseases in animal farms.
Ongoing project (2024-2027) of institutional research program 220101 „The scientific support in the assessment of resources from the zoo-veterinary field as selection and adaptation of new breeds and hybrids with inoffensive curative technologies and methods under the conditions of climatic resilience”.
Research infrastructure. The collaborators of our Institute facilitate the research infrastructure of 4 Laboratories as: Animal Genetic Resources; Physiology and Biotechnology of Animal Reproduction; Animal Nutrition, Feed Technologies and Fodder Quality; Disease prevention and control and animal production quality, which is connected to the platform of the European System of Research and Technology Infrastructures https://eertis.eu/erio-2300-000f-6642. In the same way, there are used some infrastructures and devices from the Department of Animal Resources in Agricultural Safety and Veterinary Medicine of the Technical University of Moldova and of the Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology of the State University of Moldova, as well as the multiple farms for breeding of milk and meat cows, sheep and goats, pigs, and poultry of economic agents in our country, which are located in all areas of our republic.
To create a sustainable agriculture in the context of climate change our institute cooperates on the basis of multiple agreements with specialized research units ( as institutes and exploitation stations), agronomic universities and farmers at national and international level.
Services provided for economic agents/farmers
The institute provides consultancy, training and teaching the economic agents regardless of the legal status and size of the farm, as well offers laboratory investigations for chemical analysis and testing of feed/recipes, elaboration of new feed rations for animal nutrition, evaluation of milk, meat quality, elaboration of mating plans( selection), breeding programs, testing and evaluation of livestock (bonitation), bacteriological and mycological examinations (feed, water, manure, soil, semen, etc.), parasitological, implementation of innovative and environmentally friendly technologies for exploitation, etc.

ŞI MEDICINĂ VETERINARĂ MEMBRU AL CLUSTERULUI ZOOTEHNIC
„GREEN FARM UNGHENI”
În martie, 2023 Institutul a participat la un eveniment cu reprezentanții ai sectorului zootehnic și mediului de afaceri din regiunea Ungheni, din județul Iași, România, reprezentanți ai administrației publice locale, specialiști în domeniul agriculturii și experți în vederea încheierii unui memorandum privind constituirea clusterului „GREEN FARM UNGHENI”.
Acesta are ca scop consolidarea unui parteneriat regional în vederea susținerii și creșterii competitivității fermierilor și crescătorilor de animale din zonă.
Oleg Mașner, director al Institutul Ştiinţifico-Practic de Biotehnologii în Zootehnie şi Medicină Veterinară, a menționat că, această inițiativă este una foarte importantă, necesită conjugarea eforturilor, pentru a fi competitivi, implicarea în procesul de inovare, și colaborarea printr-un tandem prietenos cu mediul înconjurător.
Clusterul „GREEN FARM UNGHENI” își propune dezvoltarea unor parteneriate durabile cu producători din domeniul zootehnic și alți actori cheie cointeresați în creșterea productivității de carne și lapte. Totodată, vor fi puse bazele dezvoltării unei strategii regionale privind gestionarea deșeurilor din sectorul zootehnic.

Discuție privind perspectivele de dezvoltarea serviciilor de extensiune rurală, revitalizarea sectorului zootehnic
Recent, la institut dl Oleg Mașner,director IȘPBZMV și Coşmаn Serghei, dr. hab., șeful laboratorului Nutriţie şi Tehnologii Furajere, au purtat un dialog cu directorul executiv a Federației Fermierilor producătorilor de lapte din R. Moldova, Petru Popa cu privire la problemele și propunerile parvenite de la membrii Federației (fermieri), precum și prestarea serviciilor de extensiune existente a institutului. Au fost elucidate perspectivele și posibilitățile revitalizării sectorului zootehnic sub aspect științifico-organizatoric în contextul existent a racordării actelor legislative la normele UE, în special, punerii în aplicare a Legii Zootehniei nr.213/2022.
În discuții au fost definite principiile de cooperare pentru viitorul apropiat, inclusiv, dezvoltarea serviciilor de consultanță, organizarea diferitor seminare pe tematici de nutriție, ameliorare, necesitatea inițierii întocmirii și ținerii registrelor genealogice, implementării tehnologiilor avansate de creștere a bovinelor, retehnologizarea fermelor etc. La fel s-a discutat și problema creditării de către stat a investițiilor în fermele zootehnice, în special cele de producere a laptelui, cu condiția asigurării gajului de către stat și duratei prolongate de rambursare a creditului după exemplul creditării programului „Prima casă”. Astfel, s-ar crea premise pentru accelerarea nu doar revitalizării sectorului zootehnic, dar și unor afaceri de familie în domeniu cu perspectiva moștenirii acesteia de către fii și nepoți.
Nu printre ultimele s-au sesizat problema pregătirii cadrelor calificate pentru sectorul zootehnic, numărul foarte limitat al tinerilor în cercetarea zootehnică, ca urmare a neatractivității carierei de cercetător.
În context, s-a convenit la continuarea discuțiilor în cadrul unor evenimente (seminare) viitoare, primul fiind, preconizat pentru luna aprilie 2023.

DIRECȚIILE PRIORITARE DE CERCETARE
Extensiunea rezultatelor cercetărilor ştiinţifice ale Institutului reprezintă un obiectiv important în activitate.
Atingerea dezideratului se realizează prin:
- organizarea şi desfăşurarea Seminarelor ştiinţifico-practice la diverse niveluri şi cu spectrul larg de utilizatori;
- elaborarea planşelor instructive pe diverse probleme şi secvenţe tehnologice în creşterea, ameliorarea şi alimentaţia animalelor;
- participarea cercetătorilor Institutului la diverse emisiuni televizate şi radiofonice ce abordează tematica activităţilor în sectorul zootehnic şi de cercetare în domeniu;
- întruniri video online între fermieri și colaboratorii Institutului cu implicarea organizațiilor internaționale, și cu participarea colegilor din înafara hotarelor Republicii Moldova.
