Abstract: The publication presents materials on the study of the productivity of young animals at 12-14 months of age, the selection of highly productive animals in breeding
groups, their comparison with minimum productivity requirements and the calculation of economic efficiency. Referring to the rams, 183 heads with a live weight of 54.68 kg and a sheared wool of 5.45 kg were estimated. All the rams are assessed as elite class. According to the yearling ewes, 1631 heads or 86.6% of the total estimated livestock are assigned to the elite class. The live weight of the elite class in yearling ewes was 45.92 kg and the sheared wool was 4.83 kg. A total of 1884 heads with an average live weight of 44.36 kg and a shearing of 4.69 kg of wool were evaluated. The selection differentiation for rams was 87.4% and for yearling ewes was 60.6%. The intensity of selection in rams by live weight is 2 kg and by shearing of wool is 1.36 kg, at yearling ewes it was respectively, 3.28 kg and 0.77 kg for each position. The economic efficiency by live weight of the rams is 876.15 MDL and at yearling ewes - 644.53 MDL, or 760.39 MDL on average, and by the sheared wool of the yearling ewes it constituted 3.65 MDL, respectively 6.54 MDL at rams, with 5.10 MDL earn on average.
Keywords: rams, yearling ewes, live weight, sheared wool, selection differentiation, selection intensity.
